Course description
OLPD 8502 is a seminar course focusing on analysis of problems and issues in evaluation. The course focuses on a set of key articles by major figures in the field of evaluation. The course begins with an examination of a basic problem facing evaluators—the difficulty of conducting valid evaluations of complex social and educational programs and policies. Students will examine principles and methods for addressing this complexity through quantitative and qualitative evaluation strategies, models, and approaches. A primary course objective is to understand how sophisticated evaluators approach the task of program evaluation.
