CI 5744 - Seminar Reflecting On Professional Development in Social Studies Education (4 Cr.)
Course description
The teacher candidate seminar is designed to provide an opportunity to reflect on the spring semester student teaching experience with your peers in a supportive learning environment. It is also expected that you will continue to develop and refine the numerous teaching strategies and methods you have acquired during the fall pre-service student teaching experience, as well as begin to synthesize many of the skills you have learned in previous courses.
During our meetings, we will discuss issues encountered during the student teaching experience, your strengths as a teacher candidate, and areas in which to improve. Because student teaching may be the only opportunity you have to receive regular feedback on your teaching practice, considerable attention will be paid to helping you develop the ability to reflect honestly on your instruction with your peers, your instructor, and your university supervisor.
prereq: Secondary social studies initial licensure student
