ME 5101 - Power Cycles (4 Cr.)
Course description
The class will primarily focus on the thermodynamics and practical engineering considerations of three energy conversion devices: gas turbines, steam power plants, and reciprocating internal combustion engines. Students will use thermodynamic principles to analyze ideal and realistic cycles, analyze combustion and emissions, and use performance models to understand practical designs of energy conversion devices.
