Course description
The course will introduce instructional and laboratory experiences with emphasis placed on preparing future teachers of high school agriculture mechanics in managing a shop/lab experience. Instructional and laboratory exercises associated with woodworking and building construction will be introduced. Students will develop basic skills and knowledge, including the safe use of hand and power tools, project planning and cost calculations, drawing to scale, wall framing, woodworking, concrete and masonry, plumbing, residential wiring, electric motors, and fluid power. Special emphasis is placed on safety and the use of modern tools and materials. OSHA 10 certification is structured within this course.
