GRK 1002 - Beginning Classical Greek II (4 Cr.)

Classical and Near Eastern Religions and Cultures (10956) TCLA - College of Liberal Arts

Course description

Greek 1002 picks up where 1001 left off, with more grammar, more vocabulary, and deeper access to ancient texts. We focus on Classical Greek as used in 5th–4th century BCE Athens, the language of Sophocles, Euripides, Plato, and Aristotle. By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared for more advanced study of authors and genres, including Attic prose, Homeric epic, and the Koine Greek of the New Testament. This course is ideal for students with one semester of Greek or equivalent experience.

Undergraduate students should enroll in GRK 1002, and graduate students should enroll in GRK 4002 for graduate credit.
