Course description
Do you get a thrill when you see a Broadway musical onstage or in film? Would you like to obtain the skills seen in shows such as "Hamilton" or "Wicked"? If so, this is the class for you! Dance for Musical Theatre, geared to all levels, incorporates many styles of dance found in musical theatre including jazz, hip hop, tap, ballet, and many more. Throughout this course, you will learn proper physical alignment and technique to enable you to safely explore these styles while gaining strength, flexibility, agility, and rhythm. Feel free to work at your level. You will be met wherever your skill level is. The final project will be an informal cabaret performance exhibiting the pieces worked on throughout the semester, some containing original Broadway choreography! You don't want to miss this class!
