Course description

This course provides practical instruction on how to ask and answer researchable policy questions. Students will learn to develop empirically researchable policy questions and carry out analyses to answer their questions using public data sources. All programming and data analysis will be performed in Stata. No previous knowledge of Stata is required. Many public datasets are surveys of demographic information. As such, students will also learn about the survey designs used by major demographic surveys and how to analyze survey data in Stata.
