Course description

Small, graduate-seminar style discussion class. Basic public health principles are covered in the context of current events, public health, and veterinary medicine. The course will increase students’ awareness of non-traditional career opportunities for veterinarians and will provide an introduction to the day-to-day work of veterinarians in non-traditional careers. Students will explore the challenges of public health practice through discussion of veterinary public health issues from the perspective of the social and political pressures and multiple stakeholders involved that make the issues harder to manage than the science would predict.
