LAW 6951 - Transportation Law and Policy (2 Cr.)
Course description
In this seminar, students will explore the law and policy of ground transportation in the Unites States, gaining the foundation for a legal career in this challenging and rewarding field. This interjurisdictional body of law impacts nearly every aspect of our lives: how we move about our neighborhoods, how we grow our cities and regions, and whether we can successfully combat climate change. Students will learn the leading cases, statutes, and regulations in this field, and analyze them both from a policy perspective and from the perspective of a legal practitioner. The seminar will consider how the current system of transportation law could be improved and how transportation lawyers at all levels of government work to further the public interest.
