VBS 4131 - Immunology (3 Cr.)

Veterinary Biomedical Science (11651) TVET - College of Veterinary Medicine

Course description

Immunology is an exciting and evolving subject with many real-world applications. We hope that you enjoy this course and get a lot out of it; it is designed to help you both understand and apply basic concepts related to immunology. The format is a combination of active lectures and cooperative learning in groups. We want you to be actively engaged during class! You will also be working in groups to formulate a collective response to many of the question/case problems. The workload consists of three exams, 10 group and individual problems, and a group project that will be presented to the class.

Class sessions occur in person; exams are taken online (see Course Assignments section below). All materials for the class will be on the Canvas website, and we will communicate with the class via Canvas announcements.

There is a separate designator, VBS 5131, for graduate students in the course. Those registered for graduate credit will generate and submit a research proposal pertaining to immunology in addition to the other course requirements.
