Course description
Beginning through advanced analysis of jazz repertoire from harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic perspectives. Harmonic analysis will focus on chord construction and movement between chords. Melodic study looks at classic improvised solos through transcription and analysis. Rhythmic analysis includes stylistic differences between different recordings from different periods.
