Program description
The Early Modern Studies (EMS) minor encourages inquiry into the early modern period, roughly 1300 to 1800 C.E., using insights and perspectives from multiple disciplines. The minor provides graduate students with a solid grounding in the theories and multi-disciplinary methods used by scholars studying the early modern period and draws electives from courses offered by departments across the College of Liberal Arts as well as the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine graduate program. The University has numerous library collections and research centers that include a focus on the early modern period. For more information on the minor, visit www.cemh.umn.edu/minor.
