Course description
This course prepares agricultural education teachers and other agricultural professionals to use technology in the areas of welding and small gas engines. Students will be expected to gain competence in oxyacetylene welding and cutting, arc welding (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW), plasma arc cutting, and small gas engines. Teaching/learning strategies will demonstrate best practices along with research-based practices that are proven effective in teaching manufacturing and mechanical technologies to high school students. Special emphasis is placed on safety and the use of modern equipment, which meets current industry standards. OSHA 10 certification is structured within this course.
