Course description
Experiential learning is an invaluable educational approach that deepens your understanding of your coursework and prepares you for success in the real world by providing practical skills, fostering personal growth, and enhancing your overall learning experience and professional network. These experiences will allow you to step outside of your comfort zone and face new challenges that can lead to personal growth, increased self-confidence, and the development of essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
This course will support you as you create the foundation for a successful professional career. Timely course lectures, assignments, and instructor guidance will help you during your experience while challenging you to apply your competencies, address concerns, and adjust to working in a professional setting.
The course content is tailored to the specific professional practices of the industries represented by our KIN, PAHP, and SMGT majors and designed for students nearing graduation.
Instructor Consent Required.
prereq: Be declared kinesiology, physical activity health promotion, or sport management majors in the last year of their degree program Have an industry-specific field experience that they will be participating in for a minimum total of 60 hours during the semester (generally 4 hours of experience each week for 15 weeks)
