Course description

Preparation for Working with Families is a course designed to introduce students to the helping professions. This introduction involves activities aimed at making students aware of their reasons for wanting to embark on this career path. Consequently, assignments are designed to promote self-reflection as students learn about family, identities, values, their capacity to empathize with diverse others, and career interests. This course offers systematic preparation for upper division education, research/field internships, and career possibilities in Family Social Science.
