Curriculum & Instruction (11197)
TCED - College of Education and Human Development
Course description
The purpose of this course is to examine mathematics teaching in diverse school settings and help you inquire and reflect about your own teaching practice, its impact on you, and the students you will meet. Throughout this course, we will collaboratively inquire about teaching and learning, observe and analyze instruction, and reflect on your own and each other’s teaching. We will develop and integrate technology to work with pedagogical and content knowledge to make our math teaching more effective. This course supports your pre-student teaching field experience in CI 5924. This course partners with MTHE 5021 where you will examine using algebra as a vehicle to discuss students’ learning trajectories, ways to measure students’ understanding, and make instructional decisions to help students grow.
