Course description
The Minnesota Board of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrators (BENHA) requires applicants for initial licensure to complete accredited postsecondary academic courses covering key competencies. This course covers the organization, operations, functions, services, and programs of long-term care supports and services, including the following: governing and oversight bodies and their relationship to the administrator; administrative responsibilities and structures; operations and functions of each facility department; functions and roles of professional and nonprofessional staff and consulting personnel.
Prerequisites: Some basic knowledge of the long-term care field. Students without this knowledge are encouraged to meet with the instructor to explore preparation strategies.
