Course description
The course is an introductory survey of the global food economy and current issues. Included in this course is information on marketing channels, value chains, and supply chains; factors that make the global food economy unique relative to other industries; current policy topics including labeling, Farm Bill, and trade. Students will work on a project regarding a trademarked food product or Certified B Corporation project throughout the semester. Business sustainability concepts will be applied to food economy supply chains.
