Course description
In this honors course you will build and use Excel-models to analyze real-world business problems. You are introduced to skills for analyzing data and presenting recommendations to management. In this class you will work extensively with Microsoft Excel and will be better prepared to use it in internships and upper division classes. Excel is a critical business tool. As business students, your familiarity and proficiency in Excel will aid you in upper-level classes and ultimately greatly improve your career prospects. We will learn the tension between parsimony and relevance. You will use models to answer many what-ifs. Most importantly, we hope to instill a disciplined method of structured and rigorous thinking.
