DES 1903 - Retail and Consumers in Film and Media (3 Cr.) Freshman Seminar
DESGN DESI Administration (10829)
TALA - College of Design
Course description
The focus of this course is to bridge the gap from what we see retail portrayed as on the big screens as consumers to what it actually is in the retail industry as professionals. Students will watch a variety of different shows, sitcoms, movies, and documentaries and then reflect in individual and group settings to build a foundation of retail knowledge that will help jump start their careers at either their part-time jobs, internships, or post-graduate endeavors. By the end of the semester, students will not only have enjoyed their streaming efforts but also gained an insightful base of retail and consumer studies across industries, channels, business models, products, categories, designers, and teams.
