Chicano-Latino Studies B.A.

Students must take a minimum of 18 credits of Electives. A maximum of 3 credits of Lower-Division Electives may count toward this requirement, but a Lower-Division elective course is not required.

With prior approval from the director of undergraduate studies, up to 3 upper-division credits of coursework not on the Electives list but related to the discipline may count towards the Electives requirement.

Take CHLS 4993W Senior Capstone (1 cr.) while also simultaneously being enrolled in a 3XXX or a 4XXX level course with a tenure-track faculty member in the Chicano and Latino Studies department.

Students who double major in CLA and choose to complete the capstone requirement in their other CLA major may waive the Chicano-Latino Studies capstone, and they do not need to replace the 1 credit.

Students are required to take one upper division writing intensive course within the major. If that requirement has not been satisfied within the core major requirements, students must choose one course from the following list. Some of these courses may also fulfill other major requirements.
