Honors students who wish to graduate summa cum laude write a 40-50 page summa thesis in a 2- semester, 4-credit thesis workshop (ENGL 3993). ENGL 3993 is usually taken in 2 semesters of 2 credits each. ENGL 3993 provides an overview of the writing and research process, a supportive community of fellow writers, and a structure to help students complete this large-scale, long-term, in-depth project, whether their thesis involves literary analysis or creative writing.
