Completion requirements

Integrated Bachelor’s/Master’s in Geoengineering
The department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering (CEGE) offers an Integrated Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Program. Students accepted into the integrated program will be guaranteed admission to the Geoengineering MS program upon completion of the bachelor's program.

Program Description

The Integrated Bachelor of Geoengineering/Master of Science in Geoengineering (BGeoE/MSGeoE) streamlines the MS application process for our undergraduate students, eliminating the GRE requirement and reducing the number of required letters of recommendation from three to one.

Eligible students (those with a GPA of 3.30 or higher) apply for the program at the end of their third year. Once a student is accepted, the program offers flexibility in fulfilling required courses for both degrees in the last year of study as an undergraduate. Students may apply up to 16 graduate credits, taken during their senior year and charged at the undergraduate tuition rate, toward their Master’s program.

In addition, the program allows students to double-count up to 6 of the 16 graduate-level credits toward both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. The ability to double-count credits makes it possible for a student to complete their combined BE and MS in 5 years. The double–counted credits can only be CEGE 5xxx level courses.
