1) Problem solving: Upon completion of the four-year BFA in Graphic Design, students will be able to identify, define, and solve problems individually or as part of a team drawing from design theory and research methods as they engage with artifacts, systems and/or experiences within the professional disciplines of visual design. 2) Critical thinking: Upon completion of the four-year BFA in Graphic Design, students can locate and critically evaluate information from a variety of primary, secondary and tertiary sources. 3) Mastery of knowledge: Upon completion of the four-year BFA in Graphic Design, students will have mastered a body of knowledge and mode of inquiry. 4) Engaging diversity: Upon completion of the four-year BFA in Graphic Design, students will understand diverse philosophies and culture within and across societies. Students will contextualize their own positionality in the context of racism and other forms of power, privilege, and marginalization to help them explore how their life experiences shape design outcomes for their communities. 5) Communication: Upon completion of the four-year BFA in Graphic Design, students will be able to communicate effectively visually, verbally and in writing. 6) Innovation & creativity: Upon completion of the four-year BFA in Graphic Design, students will understand the role of creativity, innovation, discovery, and expression across disciplines. 7) Active citizenship: Upon completion of the four-year BFA in Graphic Design, students will have acquired skills for effective citizenship and lifelong learning.
