Program learning outcomes

For all CPS graduate minors, we have the following student learning outcomes: (1) Identify and explain knowledge formation through the more integrated epistemological lens proper to premodern eras. (2) Evaluate primary sources and demonstrate how to understand the role of archives and collections in the formation of disciplines and professional spheres of knowledge. (3) Identify, describe, and apply new geographies, and/or new ways to interpret or represent the geography or locality of premodern phenomena. (4) Situate historical knowledge within its period, describe how knowledge is transformed over time, and explain what methods to use to trace transmission and transformation in the historical record. (5) Identify and evaluate the particular learning and communication strategies that adequately communicates Premodern Studies research to a range of audiences. (6) Demonstrate some of the various forms and models of collaborative research, related technologies and pedagogies, and most importantly the ethics of working collaboratively.
