Program learning outcomes
Students are prepared for licensure in the State of Minnesota (Minnesota k-12 instrumental and Classroom Music License or Vocal and Classroom Music License) by completing the following requirements:
2–6 credits of prerequisite courses: Introduction to Music Education and Secondary Voice or Piano
32–36 credits of music education courses, including teaching methods, instrumental methods or vocal pedagogy, conducting, and student teaching
10 credits of professional education courses from the School of Education
Completion of the Minnesota Teacher Licensure Examinations, including Minnesota NES Essential Academic Skills, Pedagogy: Elementary (K-6) or Secondary (5-12), and Instrumental Classroom Music (K-12) or Vocal Classroom Music (K-12)
