Program learning outcomes

Students can identify, define, and solve a range of fundamental problems in physics. Specific questions on homework are selected as testing the problem solving skills of students.

Students will demonstrate the ability to locate, collect, and analyze data in a few courses and especially while doing the Capstone independent research project with their faculty supervisor.

Students will demonstrate a fundamental and predictive knowledge of physics at an advanced undergraduate level. Homework problems address the mastery of knowledge and are combined to assess how well this outcome is achieved.

Students will demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate scientific information in both written and verbal form. A few courses have final papers or presentations, and students are evaluated on three criteria: (a) Organization of the material presented, (b) Style, and (c) Relevance and depth of material covered.
