Program description

The Master of Public Affairs (MPA) degree prepares mid-career professionals with advanced skills in public and nonprofit leadership, policy and program analysis and evidence-based decision-making. The curriculum is designed to stimulate personal and professional growth through concentrated work with dedicated peers, enabling students to design a program that aligns with their career goals at local, state, national, and international levels. In the first year, MPA students meet as a cohort for an intensive foundations week and in monthly Friday-Saturday meetings from September to May. Classes are in person. In addition to core coursework, electives are chosen in consultation with the advisor to support each student's individual academic and career goals. Students generally complete the program in 2-3 years.
