Program learning outcomes

The learning outcomes for the undergraduate minor, which will be addressed on syllabi as course objectives, are: • the ability to identify, define, and solve problems • the ability to locate and evaluate information • master of a body of knowledge and mode of inquiry • an understanding of diverse philosophies and cultures in a global society • the ability to meet the educational needs of learners from diverse backgrounds (disability, ethnicity, SES) • the ability to communicate effectively • an understanding of the role of creativity, innovation, discovery, and expression in the social sciences, and • skills for effective citizenship and life-long learner
