MATH1471 is a 2-credit course. Students who completed this course will need to work with a CSE advisor to discuss any credit discrepancies.

Students must complete either linear algebra and differential equations or multivariable calculus

To ensure an understanding of key concepts, PHYS1301W or PHYS1401V are preferred.

To ensure an understanding of key concepts, PHYS1302W or PHYS1402V are preferred.

Take introductory field geology (ESCI 3911) and choose one advanced field course from advanced field geology (ESCI 4911) or field hydrogeology (ESCI 4971W).

Additional elective courses in physical and natural sciences or mathematics. Students should choose elective courses in consultation with the director of undergraduate studies. Though not an exhaustive list, students frequently select courses listed below to fulfill this requirement.

25 additional upper-division ESci credits, including ESci 2302, are required to complete the major.

Students who are interested in a particular sub-discipline of Earth and Environmental Sciences are encouraged to discuss with their faculty advisor course selections in focus areas including: Geology, Geophysics, Biogeoscience, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry, Environmental Geology.

Students are required to take one upper division writing intensive course within the major. If that requirement has not been satisfied within the core major requirements, students must choose one course from the following list. Some of these courses may also fulfill other major requirements.
