Program description

The Master of Professional Studies in Addictions Counseling offers rigorous, evidence-based, applied clinical preparation for individuals new to the helping profession, as well as those with allied licenses (LICSW, LP, LPCC, LMFT) seeking an additional credential. The ADDC degree prepares students with educational requirements for licensure in Minnesota through the MN Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). The curriculum utilizes strong evidence-based practices and evaluation; individual and group counseling skills; professional ethics; diversity and cultural sensitivity training; co-occurring assessment and treatment interventions; and an applied field placement experience.
