Program learning outcomes
The Applied Child and Adolescent Development MA program uses both learning outcomes designed by the university and program specific learning outcomes. The program-specific outcome is described below:
Students will learn the core issues and processes underlying typical and atypical development across the lifespan. Graduates will develop a foundation for applied skill development and direct practice in a range of intervention settings and policy development and advocacy in government and community agencies. The fundamental skills that serve as the core program objectives include an understanding of the foundations of developmental science, familiarity with the primary theoretical approaches and research findings relevant to developmental science, an appreciation of the importance of theory and research to broader social and clinical issues, and an appreciation for the contributions of developmental science to practice within and beyond traditional developmental psychology-related occupations.
