Program learning outcomes

Graduates of the program achieve the following learning goals by the end of their program

  • Evaluate the ethical, legal, and professional standards of substance use disorder counseling while applying social and cultural diversity frameworks to meet the needs of diverse client populations

  • Develop knowledge of clinical assessments and evidence-based treatment plans that address the biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
