Youth Studies uses the University of Minnesota Student Learning Outcomes:
Students pursuing this major will take coursework that support the development of their proficiency in:

• Locating and critically evaluating information
• Communicating effectively
• Identifying, defining, and solving problems,
• Understanding diverse philosophies and cultures
• Understanding the role of creativity, innovation, discovery, and expression

Learning outcome: Students in Youth Studies will develop a broad understanding of youth and intersecting contexts such as cross-cultural perspectives and social inequalities.
Learning Outcome: Students in Youth Studies will have practice experiences with youth to apply classroom learning to professional situations.
