Program learning outcomes
Youth Studies uses the University of Minnesota Student Learning Outcomes: Students pursuing this minor will take coursework that support the development of their proficiency in: • Mastering a body of knowledge and a mode of inquiry. • Locating and critically evaluating information. • Communicating effectively. • Identifying, defining, and solving problems. • Understanding diverse philosophies and cultures. • Understanding the role of creativity, innovation, discovery, and expression. • Acquiring skills for effective citizenship and lifelong learning.

Learning outcome: Students in Youth Studies will develop a broad understanding of youth and intersecting contexts such as cross-cultural perspectives and social inequalities.
Learning Outcome: Students in Youth Studies will have practice experiences with youth to apply classroom learning to professional situations.
