Other courses may be used for this requirement with advisor approval.

Students are also encouraged to pursue relevant topics courses including those offered as AMST 8920, ANTH 8510, DSSC 8310, FNRM 5480, HIST 5910, OLPD 5080, and similar with director of graduate studies permission.
Up to 6 credits of Electives may be waived for students who pursue a formal doctoral minor (12-15 credits). Courses approved for both the major and the minor curriculum, or which are cross-listed, may also be counted toward the minor in some circumstances with advisor and director of graduate studies approval.
