Program description

The Bachelor of Science program in User Experience (UX) Design is a four-year interdisciplinary degree with foundations in qualitative and quantitative research, computer science, and user interface design. Students will design and develop digital experiences with these foundations, including websites, mobile applications, kiosks, internet-connected devices, artificial intelligence-driven experiences, and augmented reality and virtual-reality environments.

Students will engage in STEM subjects such as quantitative research, computer science, mathematics, prototyping, and software development. Complementing these STEM components, students will also immerse themselves in distinctive design coursework in concept sketching, wireframing, model making, visual design, user interface design, physical interface design storytelling, and a unique studio sequence composed of studios taught currently in Product Design and Graphic Design. Within this degree, students will have the opportunity to select from a diverse array of design electives, allowing them to explore and tailor their career trajectory towards an array of economic sectors, including technology companies, e-commerce, finance and banking, automotive, healthcare, gaming, aerospace and aviation, media and entertainment, education as well as government and not-for-profit sectors.

Upon completion of the degree, students will emerge with a competitive professional portfolio, hands-on internship experience, and a versatile skill set that equips them for careers as UX professionals, including but not limited to User Experience Designer, User Interface Designer, User Interface Engineer, User Experience Researcher and User Experience Strategist, Accessibility Specialist, Service Designer, Content Designer, Mobile Application Designer, and Associate Product Manager.
